Worksuit with Mugabe's signature becomes craze in Zimbabwe

Ensembles featuring famous sports, music or film personalities are commonplace, however clothing that features the face or signature of a reigning political figure is a rarity.

A recent example of this unlikely trend could be seen in Zimbabwe’s latest craze for an overall emblazoned with the signature of the country’s current President Robert Mugabe.

Manufactured by the local fashion house Hovhorosi $tyle, the green, yellow, orange, red and white coloured one-piece worksuits are rapidly gaining popularity both in and outside the country.

Designed by James Pande and Herbert Huruba, the workwear was originally designed for the delegates attending a conference of Mugabe’s Zanu PF party in 2012.

The high-in-demand apparel collection with the President’s signature also includes t-shirts and berets.
