At Ziad Ghanem's creative studio green is the new black. While the fashion world catches up with the idea of eco-friendly, organic and ethical practices Ziad has already been incorporating them into his bespoke creations.

Known for his love of practical fabrics fashioned into striking silhouettes Ziad has taken his designs to a whole new level with the inclusion of recycled textiles.

Vintage t-shirts and a patchwork combination of contrasting fabrics are all re-worked into one couture piece. “In just one of my dresses you can find Versus, M&S, Laura Ashley, Junior Gaultier, Gap and a vintage Sex Pistols t-shirt,” comments Ziad.

Sourcing fabrics from the charity shops, Age Concern being a particular favourite, he merges mix and match fabrics with glamorous avant-guard shapes.

The feel-good factor doesn't just end there; Ziad ensures all his printing methods are environmentally friendly and all hand-crafted finishes are completed in ethically sound working conditions.

Couture with a conscience – green, is indeed, the colour of new money.
