Foreign brands eye Chinese markets

Kookai, famous French fashion brand presented its retro-chic autumn/winter collection at the Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai in People's Park recently.

Shi Zhouliang, Chun Xiao and Luo Zilin, the top models of China were leading 10 other models on the catwalk and all looked beautiful.

Kokai's new collections have revisited the 1980s spirit. It includes high-waisted pants, shirts with sleeves of three-quarter length, baby doll dresses and pencil skirts.

Materials include things like tweed, wool, crepe and rough denim which is printed with navy strips, dog teeth and dots. Baby-doll dresses lay emphasis on ruffles and feminine shapes. Soft colours like pink, algae and champagne are used on fabrics like suede, mohair and shantung.

Meanwhile, Italian fashion brand Marella also opened its maiden shop in Shanghai which was also kicked off with a fashion show. The collections include a mix of contemporary styles which will definitely attract modern professional women. Prints recall a vintage look right from big roses to paisley flowers.

Collections have variety like feminine suits, pleated or flared skirts, wide-leg masculine trousers and Bermuda shorts. Plenty of varieties are available in coats and jackets as well.
