Recently at 'Womens Wear Experts Annual Convention of China Apparel Committee' held in Shanghai, apparel insiders agreed that the total supply of womens wear in domestic market was larger than demand, but effective supply was short, and high add-valued products were relatively tight.

According to the National Business Information Center, in 2003-2005, the sales in the national leading merchandise stores rose 9.6 percent and 20.4 percent respectively on a year-to-year basis. In January-July, 2006, sales of these stores still posted a fast and stable growth.

Looking at international market, China's womens wear has stronger competitive strength, and the total export quantity of this product has managed to grow for many years.

In 2005, womens wear export reached US $22.78 billion, rising 13.2 percent from the previous year. It is expected that China's womens wear will continue to increase generally both in domestic and overseas markets.
