Domestic market peeks at super premium jeans

Now the time has come, if one is attracted towards international branded jeans it can be purchased from the domestic market itself.

Around 32 million pairs of jeans are sold from the Indian market annually, and growing at 12-15 percent. But the super-premium jeans sales in the domestic market accounts for a little more than 1 percent of the yearly volume.

Replay has already penetrated Indian market places with a shop-in outlet in Mumbai.

Brands like Gucci, Christian Dior, Tommy Hilfiger, Esprit and Hugo Boss are already operating in the Domestic market. Others like Evisu and Diesel are all set to venture in the Indian market.

The Japanese designer denim brand Evisu range will comprise of jeans and skirts and will be priced between Rs7,000 to Rs14,000. Diesel has expected an emerging market price for its jeans Rs7,000 upwards. Diesel is known for its sweeping branding and trendsetting fashion.

All the international brands, with the exposure of their super premium jeans, are ready to carve a niche in the Indian market.
