Retailers are witnessing an increased sale of platinum jewellery all through the festive period and marriage season. NRIs visiting the country during holidays and for marriage are the biggest buyers of platinum.

Orra brand the jewellery exporter and retailer has seen a 25 percent rise in sales during this fiscal year over the last year.

Platinum is a rare metal with an annual production of about 200 tons per year.
