In order to strengthen the Japanese fashion industry in the global arena, the Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry is planning a support strategy so as to meet the global competetiveness.
By the end of May a compiled report will be submitted by a subcommittee comprised of Industrial Structure Council, an advisory panel to the economy, trade and industry minister.
Though Japan fashion industry has made quite an impact in the global arena with renowned designers, skilled workers and high quality materials but its brands have scarcely entered into the overseas markets.
The subcommittee will make recommendations for strengthening competitiveness through techniques like promotion of partnerships between clothing and textile manufacturers.
Another agenda of the subcommittee would be creating more exposure for upcoming brands to present at the biannual Japan Fashion Week Tokyo.
This will help the Japanese brands to penetrate growing Asian markets like China and Southeast Asia.
