Aurora Gavino's store offers wide range of polka dotted skirts, candy colour ruffles sporting flamenco illustrations, outfits decked with beads or covered with mirrors, vintage gowns, embroidered silk, velvet and gauze.

A new flamenco fashion trend is making waves in conservative circles of Andalucia region, defying traditions. Local women are opting more and more for flamenco dresses to leave a mark at the traditional spring fair 'Feria de Abril'.

Designers from Milan and Paris frequently took inspiration from Andalucia's multicolour flamenco dresses, but now the region's designers are influenced by fashion shows abroad.

Gavino and other young designers have experimented with the regional gypsy costume in previous years, giving urban streetwear looks or using fabrics like cashmere. Necklines were lowered while hemlines were raised.

A massive 30,000 visitors gather every year at Salon Internacional de Moda Flamenca, a three day flamenco fashion show cum trade fair.
