Swimwear brands flood domestic market

Unlike in the past when the Chinese did not fancy wearing a bikini, this summer the local markets are flooded with a wide variety of swimwear which is proving to be as fashionable as other garments.

A major reason for its popularity could be the similarity between local swimwear and its Western counterparts. Manufacturers are using design themes from 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and other world cultures in swimwear.

Yet another reason for the swimwears' popularity is the use of motifs from natural scenery and floral prints on a white fabric. Even some underwear brands have made a foray into domestic swimwear markets.

However, the swimwear industry faced a problem of plenty since many enterprises flooded the market with their products. Again, since the technology content of swimwear is very high, underwear manufacturers need to invest a lot into the technology.
