Mark Retzloff, Chairman, Under the Canopy, a manufacturer of organic & sustainable fashions for women and the home, announced the appointment of Barbara Cavanagh to the post of Chief Executive Officer, reporting directly to him.
Cavanagh's career includes top posts in New York at Saks Fifth Avenue as Vice-President of product development, including Real Clothes and SFA Collection.
Cavanagh also served as President at Kellwood New England, a division of The Kellwood Company, and most recently as Senior Vice-President, Consulting for The Doneger Group.
"Barbara brings an extensive background in design, sourcing and development to Under the Canopy as we position ourselves for growth" said Retzloff, "so the addition of her significant talent and leadership couldn't come at a better time."
Cavanagh will oversee all aspects of the brand, from design and global sourcing to maintaining strict organic and sustainable manufacturing standards, marketing and strategic alliances.
