dottirDOTTIR is a pop-up shop that will be open for the month of July 2012 in Mitte, Berlin, Germany. dottirDOTTIR will specialize in Icelandic and Greenlandic fashion design and handicraft from up and coming designers and remote crafters. This will be the first shop of it's kind in the world.

The content is unique but also the way it will be represented. The shop will be curated like a contemporary art exhibition bringing new meaning and context to the audience. Traditional craft and avant-garde design will be displayed side by side. Surprises.

We want to counter common stereotypes of what Nordic design is all about.

We are going to surprise you with sensual and experimental HOT clothing and objects of pure beauty.

Exact location will be announced later.

The project was born out of the mind of Icelandic Berlin-based artist and filmmaker Hulda Rós Guðnadóttir who is the Art and Project Director.

Berlin-based violinist Gudny Gudmundsdottir is a producer for the project.

Thingeyri based Janne Kristensen is a curator for the handcraft coming from Westfjords, remote part of Iceland.

The staff at Iceland Design Center has also been actively involved in the project. In Berlin we are collaborating with a PR agency.
