According to reliable sources, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, will give special consulting services to IDO Security, a provider of innovative solutions for the homeland security market.
Ridge will help speed up implementation of Magshoe high speed shoes-on portable footwear weapons detection system.
MagShoe is a security screening device that unmasks metallic objects hidden on or in footwear, ankles and feet through the use of electro-magnetic fields, thereby allowing citizens to be screened without shoe removal.
The MagShoe is currently approved for use by the United Kingdom's Department for Transport.
Sources said Ridge was very impressed by the MagShoe's advanced technology and was eager to start work with IDO.
