In the first two months of 2006, footwear export earned $ 582 million, a year – on - year increase of 30.8 percent despite negative impacts from EC's anti – dumping lawsuit, Vietnamese Industry Ministry stated.
Export turnover is maintained at such high rate as Vietnamese enterprises are shifting their markets from EU to new and promising destination of the US and Northern America, the ministry added.
In coming time, however, they will face tough challenges, since a lot of their clients are going to seek for suppliers outside Vietnam or delay import in order to await EC's final decision on the anti-dumping duty case.
