Brill Shoes Industries Ltd has manufactured rubber boots specially for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
These boots have double layer of rubber in the sole; upper layer can put up with erosion and enable the boot to be stored for 20 years.
Rubber of internal sole has shock absorbent quality which affords cushioning and support similar to sports shoes.
Company is also in dialogue with foreign armies under the aegis of SIBAT - Foreign Defense Assistance and Defense Export Organization.
It expects sale of boots to any single foreign army around $7 million a year, according to Yehuda Elbaz, CEO, Brill Shoes.
Discussions are also being conducted to manufacture rubber boots in US and Turkey, said Zvi Bloch, Deputy Head, Ministry of Defense Directorate of Procurement and Production.
Brill Shoes invested NIS 20 million in R&D and another NIS 10 million in equipment for its proprietary rubber boot for the IDF.
