Brazilian shoe components will be available in Egypt as Akbar Group, a trading company in Cairo is to launch a showroom, said Hesham Akbar, General Manager of the Group.

Participating at a fair of shoe components and leather sector in the city of Novo Hamburgo, in southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, the group is making attempting to establish initial contacts to execute the projects.

Akbar Group imports components from China, Italy, Turkey and Taiwan and offers more services to its clients, particularly producers of shoes in Egypt.

Akbar is already in conversation with Assintecal, a representative of shoe component producers in Brazil, and has invited them to take part in the Fimec 2006.

To Akbar's mind, Assintecal liked the concept and the next step would be to explore Brazilian suppliers.

Brazil offers a large group of companies that operate in the sector, from producers of leather to industries manufacturing soles, chemical products like glues, shoe moulds and inner soles.

Fimec 2006 brings together a large part of these producers as it is the second largest fair of shoe components in the world.

FIMEC is the third largest footwear fair in the wolrd. Year after year Fimec has consolidated itself as one of the most important events in the leather-footwear sector.

It is currently the largest fair in Latin America and is counted among the three largest ones in the world.

In the 2005 edition, the four days of the event offered the Brazilian and foreign businesspeople who walked around the aisles not just the latest concepts in state-of-the-art machinery technology – in which Brazil has stood out, but also, once again, opened space for the fashion industry, as well as for cooperation agreements among the various countries, and for an agenda of speeches for the audience.
