A call for renewed efforts to promote Turkish leather exports has been given by, Istanbul Association of Exporters for Leather and Leather Products (IDMIT) Chairperson Mehmet Buyukeksi.
He gave this call during his speech at the awards presentation ceremony held to honour successful leather exporters of 2005.
Last September, the Leather Advertising Group, introduced promotion campaign “We are Proud of Our Leather” and has served its purpose, conveyed Mehemet.
Since 2003-2004, Turkish leather industry was sinking but through a US $10 million that featured celebrities who were pictured with leather products helped sustained and successfully carried out the “We are Proud of Our Leather” campaign.
All billboards leading to Antalya and Istanbul Airports carried the promos that got noticed and further popularized the concept and acheived the objective.
An informative website will be launched carrying names and addresses of companies, issues for discussion, product advertising, exports and sales statistics will also be displayed.
