Since the beginning this year, Vietnam's knitting material-capped sports shoes exports have gained sharp growth in both volume and price terms, according to the Ministry of Trade.
During the first two months, the goods exports turnover saw a year-on-year rise of 98.28 percent (at 3.61 million pairs) and 154.71 percent (equivalent to US $ 36.76 million) in terms of volume and value, respectively.
Among the importers, the US retains the top position, followed by the EU, Japan and Mexico, MOT adds.
As regards exports to the US, turnover reached 1.47 million pairs, worth $16.1 million, recorded a year – on – year increase at 140.97 percent and 191.52 percent in volume and value, respectively.
Meanwhile, exports turnover to the EU market also surged, generating $ 11.63 million, reaching 94.52 percent up during the same period of 2005.
At the same time, Japan spent $ 2.62 million over imports of such type of shoes from Vietnam (at 277.39 thousand pairs), with average price of $ 9.44 per pair, a 13.08 percent rise.
Further, exports turnover of these goods to Mexico went up 188.33 percent in volume, but were down 16.77 percent in value terms, causing a modest growth in this period at 135.81 percent valued at $96,174,000.
