Six EU countries rally behind Vietnam - anti-dumping duties on shoes

European Commission has been facing flak from Denmark, Ireland, Belgium, England, France, and Holland following it decision of raise anti-dumping duty on Vietnamese leather shoe from 4.2 percent to 16.8 percent in next six months.
But there's cheer from Italy and Portugal who have been shouting hoarse claiming cheap imported shoes from that coutry harm local footwear industry.
Meanwhile, European Commission has been requested to rethink this decision by non-governmental organization ActionAid Vietnam (AAV).
According to AAV, million of workers and mostly women, get affected due to imposition of anti-dumping duty.
European Union is in negotiations with Vietnam to find suitable solution over this vexxed issue, European Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson stated is his briefings, recently.
