Anti-dumping duty imposed by EU on Chinese shoes reached 9.7 percent on June 2, 2006.
As a result, Chinese exports to Europe have gone down in the last two months after recording a surge in first quarter.
Industry experts also predict that exports would further decline in the wake of rise in the duty with passing time.
However, to cope with this situation, shoe enterprises have begun to improve the quality of products, while some enterprises have abandoned European markets to turn to other lucrative markets.
