Footwear manufacturers exported 38.95 million pairs of footwear to the American countries during first four months this year.
With this export, Vietnam registered turnover of $349.13 million with annual growth of 36.52 and 46.60 percent in terms of volume and value, according to industry sources.
America accounts for about 32.3 percent of entire exports turnover of Vietnam, in comparison to 27.3 percent in 2005.
The US and Mexico are two biggest importers from all the other American countries.
Exports turnover to the US from January to April 2006 recorded $254.61 million, with year-on-year rise of 51.07 percent.
Revenue of entire 2006 is expected to reach $900 million, $300 million more than 2005.
The figures of Mexico in the period are $36.24 million, increased at 13.75 percent in comparison with same period 2005.
Besides, there was a sharp growth in terms of volume and value at other South American markets including Panama, Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela.
Due to present benefits, experts opine that total footwear exports turnover to the America will climb to $1.2 billion, recording a $350 million more than 2005.
