Leather industry bags Rs290cr package

Leather industry bags Rs290cr package

Centre has approved Rs290 crore package for Kanpur leather industry as it is the main business of city.
This package has been sanctioned under Integrated Development of Leather Sector Scheme (IDLS) to improve technology.
It has also been decided that units which are making profit for last three years, would be provided assistance under IDLS scheme.
Footwear Design and Development Institute
(FDDI) in collaboration with
Central Leather Research Institute
and
Council for Leather Exports
had organized awareness program on November 3, 2005.
This project will come into force through two Project Implementation Units (PIUs) — CLRI, Chennai for tannery and FDDI, Noida for leather goods and garments.
