Footwear, Leather and Rubber Products Senior Staff Association (FLRPSSA), an association of the labourers in footwear, leather and rubber products, has severely criticized the Government economic policies terming them responsible for the closure of shoe factories.
It alleged that the import of fairly used shoes had created health related problems as it brought various kind of diseases.
However, the body appreciated Government's move of hiking the tariff of imported tyres and demanded that the measures like resource control, local Government autonomy, justice and equity in policies should be immediately implemented.
