Country has exported 4.64 million pairs of synthetic leather–capped shoe worth $36.48 million with growth of 18.1 percent and 23 percent in terms of volume and value respectively in July 2006.
During the first seven months, shoe export increased 8.94 percent to 28.43 million pairs worth $221.41 million with 20.06 percent rise compared to same period last year.
Prices of shoe increased to $7.86 per pair registering a 3.75 percent hike.
Prices of shoes exported to Belgium declined sharply as Belgium has started importing cheap shoes from other countries.
In Belgium, price of synthetic leather–capped sports shoes was quoted at just $5 per pair.
