Footwear makers propose tax on shoe imports

Footwear manufacturers across the country have been planning to approach Government to levy anti-dumping duty on cheap footwear imports from China.

They requested the Government to increase anti-dumping duty to 7.7 percent from current 5 percent.

Chinese shoe import to Taiwan is soaring while in countries like Vietnam and Italy dropped slightly.
