Andhra Pradesh Government's decision to give away the land which belongs to Leather Industries Development Corporation of AP (LIDCAP), a public sector entity to a Singapore Government agency for mall caused uproar in the Assembly.
Members belonging to ruling and opposition benches had heated exchanges with each other.
N Chandrababu Naidu, leader of the Opposition charged that the land was meant for the welfare of Dalits and would send a wrong signal to them.
Chief Minister Reddy while brushing aside the charges said that the land was not sold and was being given for development through Swiss Challenge Method and it would fetch around Rs80 to 100 crore.
