On August 27, 2006, EU spokesman, Peter Power confirmed that the anti-dumping investigation against Chinese labor insurance shoes has been stopped.

The EU explained of having no proof that the ending the investigation might harm the domestic industry.

This investigation has been carried out since May 13, 2005 by EU Shoe League.

However, on July 17, 2006, accepting the League's request, the EU withdrew its application.

Chinese manufacturers are bound to be benefited by gaining the legal right to export shoes to giant EU market.
