Footwear export to US posts positive growth

CLE had put up Indian pavilion in Las Vegas from August, 1 to 4 which saw 13 Indian companies displaying their products. They received encouraging response with on the spot order of 1.16 lakh pairs of shoes and future order for 2.35 lakh pairs.

The response was very encouraging with reports of spot orders for 1.16 lakh pairs of shoes and future order for 2.35 lakh pairs.

Exports of leather footwear rose from US $657.78 million to $786.76 million, an increase of 19.6 percent. The seven countries which constitute 80 percent of Indian footwear Export include UK (20.5), Germany (17.27), the US (15.15), Italy (11.21), France (6.97), Spain (5.25) and the Netherlands (3.64).
