1,961 pairs of fake Lacoste footwear worth $175,000 from China were seized by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in a series of raids on retail stores and warehouses in Pasay City.

NBI's Intellectual Property Rights Division raided the Bigger and Brighter Boutique House warehouse and a retail store.

A genuine pair of Lacoste rubber shoes costs 1,500 pesos while the fake one is available in the market at 300 pesos.

The raids were conducted after the distributors of genuine Lacoste products lodged a complaint with the NBI against the sale of fake shoes having their label.
