Chinese merchants were forced to hand in a fine of US $500 thousand to Russian Customhouse to redeem the detained Chinese shoes worth of RMB130 million.
Since 2000, billions of shoes produced in Wenzhou city were detained by Russian Customhouse.
On June 22, 2006, 32nd Chinese shoe warehouse of 130 containers in Russia was closed down with the entire merchandise of shoes worth RMB130 million.
Over 80 percent shoes belonged to around 20 firms in Wenzhou city.
This is the first time that confiscated products have been redeemed from Russian Customhouse.
Chinese merchant, Liu has sold the shoes produced in Wenzhou city for many years in Russia.
This time, his shoes worth of over RMB3 million were redeemed with a fine of US $16 thousand on September 21 and on September 22 he already sold over 500 pairs of shoes.
