Ministry of Industry (MOI) advised footwear industry of the country to implement three measures in order to overcome difficulties in both production and exports in the future months.
The first step suggested is to accelerate investment and innovation technology to manufacture high–quality products and develop new replaceable materials for producing various types of goods.
Secondly, MOI proposed that the industry explore and expand leather shoes export markets other than the EU and encouraged firms to produce accessories that do not fall under anti–dumping lawsuit.
MOI urged all enterprises to create their individual trade marks and improve quality of designer products.
These measures were suggested by MOI recognizing that Vietnam's footwear industry was facing harsh difficulties in both domestic production and export trade.
As a result of such problems, the industry suffered sharp month-on–month decline of 21.6 percent for exports in September this year.
In the first nine months this year, exports turnover of the industry climbed to $2.64 billion, posting year–on–year increase of 21.5 percent
