“The trend of the global economic development is actively upwards and will gradually eliminate trade barriers, but the anti-dumping measures by EU on Chinese footwear are contradictory to the developing direction of world trade”, said Yrjo Gorski, Chairman of European footwear purchasing organization (CEDDEC), at the international forum held in Chengdu under the theme of 'Transfer Chinese footwear industry from the east to the west'.

He stated, apparently the sanction provided the footwear industry in EU Southern members with a breathing chance for production shift, but it could possibly waken Chinese footwear industry to seek the momentum in upgrading technique, and force Chinese industry to walk into EU's realm of 'real leather shoes'.

Then EU footwear industry would run into a dead lane for its shortsighted isolation. He said, "I worry more about the destiny of European footwear industry."

Yrjo Gorski smiled, "EU only represents a small market for Chinese footwear, Chinese shoes should plan to seek more share in world markets. Actually to turn bad things into good ones proves not so difficult, the key lies in how Chinese will do in the case."
