The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) recently signed an agreement worth about $ 31.17 million with South Korea’s Kido Dhaka Co. Ltd, which will set up a high-end garments and sportswear manufacturing industry in the Adamjee export processing zone (EPZ). Kido manufactures sportswear and has five plants in Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia.

It will annually produce two million pieces of cloths jacket, motorcycle safety jacket, leather and fibre jacket, work jacket, sports jacket, baby warmer and personal protective equipment (PPE), and create jobs for 6,040.

BEPZA member (investment promotion) Ali Reza Mazid and acting director of Kido Dhaka Ahn Young Dae Joseph signed the agreement.

The company is hopeful of investing more in Bangladesh by acquiring closed industrial plants in EPZs, according to a news agency report.
