The projects will create more than 12,000 jobs, a CDC statement said.
CIB has approved the certification of registration for four investment projects that will build factories to make garments, electric wires, lights, footwear and technician tools.
One of the factories will manufacture footwear in Kampong Speu province, while three others will produce garments in Takeo province, and another three will produce garment and packaging materials in Phnom Penh.
Investors in these projects have registered their respective capitals between $5.1 million and $8.6 million in one city and two provinces, especially in Kampong Speu, the statement said.
You Just Footwear (Cambodia) Co Ltd plans to invest $5.6 million in a footwear unit in Kampong Speu province’s Kong Pisei district, with a plan to recruit 1,538 employees.
In Phnom Penh, Cherish Industrial (Cambodia) Co Ltd had submitted a proposal to set up a festival- and material-clothes manufacturing factory worth $6.1 million in Dangkor commune of Dangkor district. It plans to recruit 2,040 employees—the biggest recruitment plan among the ten investment projects.
CPack Garment (Cambodia) Co Ltd plans to build a garment factory worth $5.1 million in Pong Toek commune of Dangkor district in Phnom Penh city, which is expected to create 1,391 jobs.
Rally Packaging (Cambodia) Co Ltd plans to produce plastic packaging materials in a factory in Khmuonh commune of Sen Sok district with a plan to employ 300 workers, Cambodian media outlets reported.
For Takeo province, Sunny Jet Hosiery (Cambodia) Co Ltd plans to build a factory in the Bati district of Takeo province to make clothes, gloves, sacks and hats with an investment of $6.2 million. The company plans to recruit 1,641 employees.
Vent Dest Phnom Penh Clothing Co Ltd will construct a garment factory in Kandoeng commune in the same province with an investment of $6.2 million. That will generate 1,958 jobs.
Sunrun (Cambodia) Garments Factory Co Ltd plans to invest $5.1 million to build a garment factory in Putsar of Bati district in Takeo province and employ 1,764 workers.
