A garment factory with an investment of $2.1 million will be built by Jiangyao (Cambodia) Garments Co., Ltd., in Takhmao town in Cambodia’s Kandal province, creating 2,611 jobs, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) recently announced after approving the project. CDC has approved several garment projects in the last two months.

In late January, CDC approved a $3.1-million garment factory by Brightness (Cambodia) Garment Factory Co. Ltd in Bati district of Takeo province, employing around 700. The total investment of seven projects approved by CDC in January was worth nearly $27.6 million and these will generate around 4,000 jobs, according to Cambodian media reports.
