CDC gives nod for 9 new textile & footwear projects

Nine projects belonging to the textile, garment and footwear industry have been given preliminary final registration certificates by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in the first three months of this year. In addition, CDC has also issued preliminary final registration certificates to two projects related to manufacturing of travel bags.

The nine projects in the textile, apparel and footwear sector are Advance Team (Cambodia), Grand Oriental Footwear International, Helios Garment (Cambodia), Monti Apparel, Qian Qun Huang Jia, Sisophon Hong Seng Sport wear, TH Zipper and Metal Accessory (Cambodia), Wincrown (Cambodia) Industrial, and VCOFF Apparel.

JS Leather Collection Phnom Penh and Nanwang Travel Goods are the two projects involving travel bags, Cambodian media reports said.

These projects are among the 35 projects that bagged CDC registration certificate during the first quarter of 2018. The total investment of these projects would be around $444 million and are expected to create more than 30,000 new employment opportunities. (RKS)
