Despite initial concerns over job losses, Fiji's garment sector has implemented the wage rise since May this year, Father Kevin Barr, Chairman of the Wages Council has said.
He said that all the ten industries including garment and wholesale/retail sectors have implemented the wage increase and are following the new wages.
He added that the Ministry of Labour is continuously monitoring to ensure that the wage hike is being followed by all the ten sectors.
