Chinese clothing output dips in Jan-Feb period

Chinese clothing production has declined, which that of textiles has inclined in the first two months of 2012.

Yarn production reached 4.44 million tons, up 12.5 percent, fabric output touched 9 billion meters, a rise of 15.3 percent and chemical fiber production achieved 5.72 million tons, up 15.3 percent year on year.

On the other hand, clothing production stood at 3.8 billion pieces, down 4.9 percent, of which, woven garment output fell 2.4 percent and knitted apparel production declined 7.5 percent year on year.

In January-February 2012, China's big and major textile enterprises realized industrial sales output value of 729.7 billion Yuan, up 13.2 percent year on year. In the same period, industrial added value increased 12.6 percent year on year.
