In July 2012, the Canadian Apparel Federation (CAF) will present a webinar highlighting the status of trade agreements and trade policies that affect the apparel sector.  The announcement (June 19, 2012) that Canada has been accepted into the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations, makes this webinar even more timely.

The Canadian Government has set an ambitious trade agenda in which CAF has been closely involved in a number of consultations regarding proposed trade agreements, efforts to upgrade existing agreements and other trade policies.

The overview will cover the following agreements or topics:

  • CETA – Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement with Europe
  • Trans Pacific Partnership
  • Canada-Japan
  • Canada-India
  • Canada-Jordan
  • Canada-Costa Rica - updating of agreement
  • Canada-Central America (Honduras and other countries)
  • Canada-US regulatory reform, and various tariff issues

Dates and specifications on this webinar will be released soon.

The Canadian Apparel Federation (CAF) is the national association for Canada's apparel industry. CAF represents the nearly 75,000 people that are employed in the industry. CAF is made up of firms from across the country, and represents the full range of firms that make up the industry, from small suppliers to national brands and vertically integrated retailers.
