Japan-based joint stock Tokyo Style Company has opened a garment factory in Phu Bai Industrial Zone in Vietnam’s central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

The total investment capital of US$ 21 million for the Vietnam facility, set up as a subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate, has been contributed by the holding firm.

Having an operational period of 50 years, the new factory has an annual production capacity of 500,000 garments, which it intends to double to one million units by 2015.

Presently, only five percent the factory’s overall production would cater to the Vietnamese domestic market, while the rest would be exported.

The company, however, looks forward to increase its domestic market share to 30 percent over the next two years, with an annual production value of US$ 8 million.

The 70.129 billion yen Tokyo Style Co. Ltd. is mainly into manufacturing of women’s apparels, which includes coats, dresses, suits, jackets, blouses, sweaters, skirts, trousers, etc.
