Cambodia invites Chinese investment in garment sector

The Southeast Asian nation of Cambodia has invited investment from Chinese entrepreneurs in the country’s garment and textile sector. This was expressed by Cambodian garment manufacturers during the visit of a Chinese delegation to Cambodia.
 
A delegation of textile and garment entrepreneurs form China recently visited the Kingdom on the invitation of Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce.
 
The visit was intended to promote China’s textiles and garments as well as to understand investment policies and environment in Cambodia.
 
Cambodia has a population of 14 million and the textile and apparel industry is the main employer in the Kingdom. 
 
Cambodia has advantage of low labour costs and the average wage of people working in Cambodian garment and textile industries is about US$ 100-150 per month.
