Calik Holding plans to invest in Georgian apparel sector

Calik Holding, one of the largest industrial companies in Turkey that employs around 20,000 people, is planning to invest in Georgian apparel sector.
 
A delegation of Calik, headed by the director of the company’s textile division, is currently on a three-day visit to Georgia to study investment opportunity in the Georgian clothing sector, according to trend.az.
 
During their three-day stay, Calik representatives would inspect proposed sites in Adjara, Imereti and Guria for construction of garment manufacturing unit.
 
The visit has been organized by the Georgian National Investment Agency, which has also arranged meetings of the Calik delegation with representatives of Partnership Fund and House of Justice.
 
The visitors will also get themselves familiarized with investment procedures in Georgia.
 
The US$ 6.5 billion Turkish conglomerate is planning to set up an apparel manufacturing unit in western Georgia, which would initially employ about 600 people, according to trend.az.
