A new garment manufacturing factory was opened in Uchalinsky district in Russia’s Bashkortostan province, earlier this month, according to an official statement from administration of the Uchalinsky area municipal district.

The tradition of stitching garments in Uchalinsky dates back to 1974 when Mir company first produced quilted jackets, gloves and other small clothing accessories. But in the 1990s, the company went bankrupt.

Subsequently, about ten years ago, the Uchalinsky-based company was acquired by Combine Working Clothes JSC. Today, the work uniform factory is equipped with latest high-technology equipment which enables production of about 300 different products. The factory has several large customers as the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Railways, etc.

Last year, Combine Working Clothes began construction of Uchalinsky Garment Factory, a two-storey building with a total area of 1,300 sq metres. It took less than a year for the construction and the factory was ready by end of May 2014. The investment amounted to 50 million rubles.

For the construction of the garment factory, pre-fabricated steel structures were used, the advantage of which is that construction could be carried on at any time of the year. In the new factory building, cutting and preparation would be carried out on the ground floor while stitching would be done on the first floor.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new garment factory, Uchalinsky district’s Head of Administration, Farid Davletgareev said the new production unit would create 200 new jobs for women.
