Leaders of Cambodian workers union have withdrawn the apparel industry strike, demanding better wages following the Government's intervention in the issue and its talks with the apparel producers.

The government has responded sensibly over the issue and the workers have started getting back to their work.

The Government has decided to discuss the issue of benefits for both apparel and footwear employees with the manufacturers as well as workers union on 27th September.

This development has put an end to the present crisis which occurred because of the mass strike in the industrial sector of this Asian country, where the workers had started asking for more benefits, arising from the economic growth and development that has taken place in the country.

The apparel sector is the most significant source of foreign earnings in Cambodia and it engages around 345,000 employees.
