Sportswear Inc, an e-commerce solutions provider to consumer brands, retailers, and media properties announced it has executed a lease to open a new manufacturing and fulfillment center in Louisville, Kentucky, lured in part by a $1 million Kentucky state tax incentive.

Sportswear Inc. announced its project at the recent meeting of the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority in Frankfurt, Ky., the state capital. The KEDFA board gave Sportswear Inc. preliminary approval for $1 million in state tax incentives.

“We are delighted to receive approval from the KEDFA board today. This was the final step in our decision-making process. We are excited to announce we will be expanding our operations into the Louisville market in 2011,” said Chad Hartvigson, Chief Executive Officer of Sportswear Inc.

“Louisville provides a strategic advantage to expand our manufacturing and product fulfillment services due to the affordable cost of living, expansive labor pool, and logistical advantages. This expansion will allow us to significantly decrease our costs and at the same time provide a shorter delivery time to our customers,”

Sportswear Inc. has executed a lease for a state-of-the art, 60,000 square foot facility in the Riverport area of Louisville, in close proximity to the United Parcel Service Inc. Worldport hub at Louisville International Airport. Plans call for hiring to begin in May and for the facility to open in June.
