China's exports of disposable medical garments rise in Q1

Exports of medical garments, made from man-made fibres and non-woven fabrics, from China were worth US$ 121 million during the first three months of 2012, showing an increase of 13.98 percent year-on-year, according to customs statistics.

Volume-wise, the exports of medical garments from China grew by 8.49 percent year-on-year during the first quarter of the current year.

Disposable medical garments accounted for 24.22 percent of all medical dressing exports from China during the January-March 2012 period.

Europe and North America continued to remain as the major markets for Chinese disposable medical garments. However, exports to Africa, the Middle East and the ASEAN regions registered a sharp jump.
