Colman and Company, a national apparel decorating supplier based in Tampa, FL announced that they’re offering DTG (Direct to Garment Printing) machine owners the ability to print directly onto leather.

This has been a big effort by top management, working with companies in Europe, Australia and Asia to find and develop a product that works well and consistently. The idea that a user can create the same kind of images that customers typically print on T-Shirts or cotton totes can also go on raw leather and suede items is exciting.

The process has been tested it on the DTG Viper direct to garment printer from Coldesi, which is probably the top DTG printer on the market today, and it works great.

The Leather Starter Kit will include several finishing options that ensure color fastness and longevity of the print.

Coldesi expects large companies that already provide custom clothing and gifts, like I-Phone and I-Pad cases, to adopt this new leather option quickly, followed by apparel companies that specialize in leather shoes, boots, jackets, and belts.
