Student Lauren Dwyer dreams of seeing her bikinis decorating the pages of Vogue magazine and she is diving straight into the deep end!

University Centre at Blackburn College student Lauren has just completed her BA (Hons) in Contemporary Fashion – a course validated by Lancaster University in which she was able to conduct a placement as part of Emmerdale’s Fashion and Wardrobe team.

The 23-year-old has already shown she has a head for business by starting her own company called ‘Lauren Dwyer’ and is already reaping the rewards.

“My brother works in Dubai as a manager for Mercedes cars and he has been able to help me to set up contacts in Dubai to sell my swimwear,” said the former Hollins Technology student.

I have also had contact with a company in Darwen who are interested in investing in my designs so it is all going really well.

“I’ve been able to gain a substantial amount of investment into my range of swimwear.”

“My designs are centred around print and, although I am concentrating on swimwear at the moment, I would like to go into soft furnishings as well.

“I am aiming for the high end and I would love my designs to appear in Vogue and someone like Kate Middleton to wear them.”
