“We are thrilled about the intrigue that our niche community has shown for StimElation since the evaluation of our conceptual prototypes began in February. We believe that this product will solve four distinct problems that expecting parents encounter during maternity,” said Phronetic Technologies Founder and CEO, Dana Hawes.
StimElation is a smart garment designed by a veteran fashion designer who, at the time of final rendering was 29-weeks pregnant. StimElation will be produced in three variations of specialized textiles and electronic functionality. The concept of a smart wearable in the maternity space has piqued the interest of expectant parent groups, medical professionals, manufacturers and distributors of maternity apparel.
StimElation has even garnered the intrigue of Kevin Culley, the Director of Innovation at Under Armour, whose External Research team is currently evaluating another Phronetic Technologies wearable for athletes.
“We’ve developed three discreet, smart products to deliver to our customers a comfortable and cost-efficient consumer experience that will mitigate the most prominent concerns of our focus groups. We are confident that the first iteration of these products will resonate positively with early adopters of this technology.”
Phronetic Technologies has partnered with AiQ, the leading manufacturer of smart wearable products, to create a practical garment that will deliver four critical consumer benefits:
Radiation shielding: Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are increasingly prevalent in the hi-tech world in which we live. Radiation from cell phones, mobile hotspots, wireless Internet, BlueRay connectivity, personal computing devices, cordless phones, microwaves, EZ-Pass toll roads, etc. all pose significant health risks to the growing baby during pregnancy.
Effects of EMF exposure include hyperactivity, learning difficulties and behavior problems. Correlations between EMFs and autism are being aggressively investigated. StimElation Safe was designed to be manufactured with specialized textiles proven to shield these common EMFs.
Body shaping: To no surprise, expecting mothers experience changes in their physiques that they may wish to control or support throughout the progressive stages of maternity. Using the same fabric science available to women who are not pregnant, StimElation is constructed without the overly restrictive compression of those garments as not to adversely impact or hinder the baby’s healthy growth and development.
Sound stimulation: Extensive medical research supports and encourages the practice of sound stimulation during pregnancy. StimElation Safe & Sound provides parents with the means to stimulate and bond with their child with music and voice with great care given to maintaining a healthy balance of volume, tone and frequency while safeguarding the baby from the devices that are commonly used.
