Americhem Inc., a global provider of custom color and additive solutions for nonwoven fibers and fabrics, will highlight its spunbonded nonwovens pilot line capabilities in booth #1743 at the IDEA 2013 International Engineered Fabrics Conference and Expo from April 23-25, at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Fla. The custom-built spunbonded pilot line, located in Americhem's Dalton, Ga., manufacturing plant, helps customers achieve faster speed to market when developing new products.
“This equipment enables us to speed color and additive product development for our customers,” said Robert Baldy, Americhem's market manager for nonwoven products. “It allows us to optimize products while minimizing the amount of time and money required for trials on our customers' equipment.”Americhem Inc., a global provider of custom color and additive solutions for nonwoven fibers and fabrics, will highlight its spunbonded nonwovens pilot line capabilities in booth #1743 at the IDEA #
The pilot line is designed to run 1 to 3 dpf (denier per filament) spunbonded polypropylene samples. It is also capable of creating spunbonded fabric from a number of other polymers, including PET, PLA, nylon 6 and TPU. The Dalton, Ga., plant also operates additional pilot equipment covering a variety of applications throughout the synthetic fibers industry.
At IDEA 2013, Americhem will also display a range of cardwrapped PP fabric samples manufactured on the pilot equipment in various colors across the visible spectrum. Additional colors are available for viewing at Americhem Dalton's Color Design Center, where product designers and manufacturers can view the colors under different lighting conditions to generate ideas for new products. “Match While You Wait” services are available as well at the Color Design Center, which allows several different colors to be matched in a oneday visit.
“With our nonwoven manufacturing simulation capabilities and Color Design Center, we are unique among masterbatch manufacturers,” said Larry Campbell, Americhem's technical development director. “Not only are our color and polymer scientists leading experts in the industry, but we also offer a wide array of product simulation equipment and services that help our customers achieve high quality and faster speed to market.”
Americhem's masterbatches for nonwoven fibers are designed with superior dispersion characteristics. The products have been proven to extend pack life, as well as to reduce die-face buildup and improve spin performance resulting in higher yields.
