Asian ethylene dips last week from drop in upstream prices

Ethylene prices dipped in Asia in the last week ended August 29 from drop in upstream energy prices, ample availability and strong selling activity in the region.

In Korea, average prices decreased by US$ 63/ton or 7.04 per cent and were assessed at US$ 832/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In Japan, average prices descended by US$ 63/ton and were quoted at US$ 822/ton in the last week, down 7.12 per cent as against its prior week.

In SE Asia, average prices went down by US$ 67/ton and were offered at US$ 823/ton in the last week, a decrease of 7.53 per cent from its earlier week.

In NE Asia, average prices declined by US$ 82/ton or 8.82 per cent from its previous week and were spotted at US$ 848/ton in the last week.

In India, average prices slipped by US$ 67/ton and were witnessed at US$ 823/ton in the last week, down 7.53 per cent vis-à-vis its earlier week.
